Does your child rise up on tiptoes and twirl around the garden? Tap down the grocery store aisle? Sing along with musicals? Stage neighborhood plays? Our children show us hearts filled with dancing, singing, and acting. And, when the time comes for you to choose a studio that can help your child fulfill his or her dreams, we know your choice will be based on many factors: primarily safety and experienced instruction. Columbia Ballet School believes that the early study of the arts should be fun for students, while teachers provide excellent instruction. Students at this age can choose from age-appropriate classes in ballet ,tap, and jazz. These classes meet on a weekly basis and are taught by mature instructors who teach without intimidation. At the end of the year, all classes take part in our end-of-year concert. This experience is the culmination of each student's training and hard work. It is an opportunity to perform in costume, onstage, which boosts their self-confidence and gives them invaluable experiences that last a lifetime. Our beautiful new studios are conveniently located near the intersection of Garners Ferry Road and Rosewood Drive. All studios are glassed so that parents can observe instruction. Students at this age are placed in class primarily based on age and experience. Students who are three or four usually start in pre-ballet. Older students start in primary ballet. Once students have gained some experience, they may move into Ballet A or Ballet II. Please talk with the teacher if you have questions about placement.
Thank you!

It is important for students of all ages to have appropriate footwear. We ask that you have your child fitted for shoes at a dance store. Leotards and tights can be purchased at other places, but good shoes are important for instruction and safety! Some suggested classes for this age group include:
PRE-BALLET (Ages 3-4) PRIMARY BALLET (Ages 5-6 ) PRE-TAP (Ages 3-4) PRIMARY TAP (Ages 5-6) PRIMARY JAZZ (Ages 5-6 )
